What Inspires Us

What India needs is a new wave of designing which we shall call Gandhian engineering. Simple functionality, minimalist design, ease of use, affordable price, vedic aesthetics, earth-friendly processes, enabling the less able, and made in India. Here is the future.

We believe, that a small body of spirited souls with an unquenchable faith in their mission can alter the course of History.

About

This was BCIL's first project. Begun in 1995. Trans Indus continues to draw discerning attention for its pioneering vision and values. As late as August '07, we had a leading weekly news magazine declare this campus as the fourth most coveted property in Bangalore. It is now a decade old with vegetation that has slowly healed a land that was originally a barren outcrop on the southern fringe of the city.

Set in an expanse of 47 acres, it has a mere 58 stand-alone homes which reflect the best of timeless architecture and contemporary engineering.

It’s members’ list reads like India’s corporate Who’s Who.

Stillness is a value that was central to the creation of Trans Indus. Its ground-breaking ideas today have borne fruit: the community is committed to a low ecological footprint ideal while enjoying the best of urban comfort.

Beyond home

I think that I shall never see A billboard lovely as a tree. Perhaps, unless the billboards fall, I'll never see a tree at all.
